Easter egg hunt at the zoo

This weekend, we took Emma to the San Francisco Zoo for their annual Easter party and egg hunt. If you can’t tell from the photos below, she had lots of fun, particularly hopping like a rabbit in any of the five (!) bouncy houses that were set up in the meadow.

First time Emma has been excited to see a life-size character. (Past run-ins with Santa haven’t gone too well yet.)

So excited that she wanted to give him a big hug before we said goodbye.

She didn’t like jumping in the bouncy house, did she?

Hoping along the grass with a giant red ball – something she didn’t want to stop.

Tossing rings onto a cactus for prizes.

Emma showing off the results of her Easter egg hunting skills.

And finally, a few rounds on the carousel, where Emma shows she knows how to have a good time!

21 months

A few photos from the first half of this year, assembled into a video we made at Animoto. Prepared for Mother’s Day.

19 months old

And already so full of emotion! Is this a sign that we’re starting the Terrible Twos a little early?

Girl in the mirror

Emma walked right up to this big column mirror in Nordstrom and was immediately entertained. Then she discovered there was another mirror (and another girl) right around the corner. Fun ensued.

Emma’s first year

One year ago, right about now, our lives changed for the better forever. Happy Birthday, Emma!

Happy 4th!

Ok, so technically, we’re one day late in wishing everyone a Happy 4th of July. But it took some time to get the photos off the camera.

Emma walked in her first parade yesterday. She and her friend, Charlotte, had fully decorated Radio Flyer walker wagons that they pushed in the Menlo Park 4th of July parade. Actually, Emma rode in hers most of the time. These two little girls and their two wagons were the hit of the parade. Everyone who saw them gushed with adoring smiles. We heard lots of “oohs” and “aahs” and “isn’t that the cutest thing in the whole wide world?!” the entire parade route. Lots of fun had by all. continued ›

Emma at 10 months

Wow. 10 months down. It won’t be long until Emma is a year old. The past month has gone by fast. We’ve gotten a little behind in posting photos to Flickr, and the last 9-month post was written way too late. So Cam is forcing me to stop other tasks to make sure we get this one written and published as close as possible to Emma’s birthday.

End-of-day voice

Cam captures Emma’s end-of-day voice. Spoiler: lots of grunting. But very cute, regardless.

We have a jumper!

The first few weeks with her new exercise jumper, Emma wasn’t sure what to make of it. She would grab some of the toys, teethe them a little, and entertain herself for about five minutes, tops. In fact, the first time we put her in this thing, she could barely reach the floor, even though we had it set on the lowest position, closest to floor.

As of this week, she discovered the true purpose of this massive device that takes up so much of our free living room space: playing with the toys and, at the same time, jumping!

6-month birthday

Here’s the birthday girl:

6 months old

We can’t believe Emma is six months old already. Cam would tell you some of the days have gone by so slowly. But overall, six months have flown by. Since our 5-month post, she’s changed before our very eyes. A month ago, she couldn’t roll over. Now, rolling over onto her belly is a piece of cake. Cam even claims she’s already rolled from her belly to her back. But I didn’t see it, and Cam didn’t catch it on video, so I don’t believe it yet. continued ›
