Welcome to our humble little site. This is where we record our thoughts about life, books we read, restaurants and movies we enjoy, and anything else we want to remember. We share photos of places we visit, people we meet or already know, and things we do. Kick off your shoes and stay as long as you’d like… we’re glad you’re here.

by Cam on June 26, 2009

We haven’t had time to do anything let alone get pictures up. I wanted to put up a few more 10 month pictures that are too cute! We took these in the back yard on her 10 month birthday. Emma 10 MonthsBig smile!

Happy 10 Month Birthday Emma!

Emma at 10 months

by Douglas on June 11, 2009

Wow. 10 months down. It won’t be long until Emma is a year old. The past month has gone by fast. We’ve gotten a little behind in posting photos to Flickr, and the last 9-month post was written way too late. So Cam is forcing me to stop other tasks to make sure we get this one written and published as close as possible to Emma’s birthday.

Emma turns 9 months old

by Cam on May 15, 2009

Emma turned 9 months old this week. We had a lot of activity this month. We had our first visit to the ER, took a trip to the zoo, Grandma Thelma came to visit, and we celebrated my first Mother’s Day.

Emma hasn’t even had a cold yet, but here we are one night, going the ER at 2:00am. It turns out Emma had picked up “Hand, Foot, and Mouth” disease. This is very common in small children, but it’s tough to see our little girl so miserable. We had to stay home for several days until we knew she was no longer contagious. She is definitely an outdoors girl, so it was hard to keep her housebound. continued ›

Doggie

by Cam on April 8, 2009

Jackson licking EmmaDoug has always wanted a dog. He never had a dog growing up and couldn’t wait until he was able to have a dog of his own. I grew up with several Labradors and had hoped one day to have another.  It was just a few months after we got married when Jackson came to live with us. Jackson is a unique chocolate lab to say the least. He is a faithful dog with high energy and stamina. He can fetch and chase a ball until the sun goes down. That’s about it as far as lab traits go. He is finicky, too hard to pet, and barks at everything that moves. We were a little concerned how he was going to react once he found out he would be sharing his dad with a baby.

Over the last few weeks the two of them have become fast friends. Jackson shows his love by licking your ear.  If Jackson licks your ear you know he loves you.  Jackson has been sniffing Emma for a while now.  We’ve been watching them closely lately. It wasn’t until yesterday that Jackson decided Emma was worthy of a good ole ear licking! It must be love.

End-of-day voice

Cam captures Emma’s end-of-day voice. Spoiler: lots of grunting. But very cute, regardless.
